What is a bar league?

A bar league is a poker league that typically holds their live poker tournaments in bars or pubs. There tends to be multiple venues within a league however each venue tends to host tournaments on the same day/time every week. The tournaments are completely free to enter and points and/or prizes are typically awarded versus cash payouts. A lot of times there will be tournament of champions which is held on a quarterly or annual basis where the top point earners from each venue combine to play in a larger tournament where a grand prize is awarded to that tournament winner.

How is the Last Call Poker League different from other bar leagues in the area?

Last Call Poker League (LCPL) will be ran in a very similar manner to most bar poker leagues as there is no point in reinventing the wheel. What you will find is that Last Call Poker League is raising the 'bar' for bar leagues within Middle TN. LCPL has invested in high quality chips, tables, prizes and an interactive website in an attempt to give the players exactly what they want!

Every tournament director that runs a LCPL tournament will be fully qualified and knowledgable in the rules of the game and the league.

On top of the points players earn by simply playing in a tournament every week they will also be earning Frequent Player Points (FPPs). A player earns 1 FPP for every 10 points earned in a nightly tournament. There are 4,375 points up for grabs every tournament which means 438 FPP points as well. Players will be able to use their FPP to exchange for chips during special FPP only tournaments where cash and prizes will be awarded. The more FPPs you earn, the more chips you can start the tournament with to grab that extra edge over your opponents!

When/Where are these tournaments held?

New tournaments can be added at any time or place in the Middle TN area so the easiest way to find out where and when tournaments are being held is to check out the Venues link at the top of every page. You can click on any of the Venue location logos and see a list of all the upcoming events for that particular venue.

Back to FAQs

Does it cost anything to play?

Absolutely not! Gambling is actually illegal in TN and there is no money involved to play any of the Last Call Poker League tournaments. Come by any of our tournaments and play for completely free! You will have an opportunity to earn a prize for winning your tournament as well as earn points that can be redeemed to order prizes off this website.

What is a FPP?

FPP stands for Frequent Player Point. FPP's should not be confused with the player points that are issued at each tournament and listed on the leaderboard standings pages. The top 20 players of each tournament earn points. If you finish outside of the top 20 then you do not earn any player or FPP points. For every player point earned you earn 1/10th of a FPP point which can be used for extra chips during special FPP only tournaments where you will be able to win an array of cash and prizes. For example if you finish a tournament in first place you would earn 1,000 player points and 100 Frequent Player Points (FPPs). FPPs for positions 16 - 20th are rounded up to 3 points instead of 2.5.

Back to FAQs

How do I earn points? How many points do I get for my finish position?

The top 20 players of each tournament earn points. If you finish outside of the top 20 then you do not earn any player or FPP points. Below is the matrix used for the top 20 finishers:

1 - 1000
2 - 700
3 - 500
4 - 400
5 - 350
6 - 300
7 - 250
8 - 200
9 - 150
10 - 100
11 - 50
12 - 50
13 - 50
14 - 50
15 - 50
16 - 25
17 - 25
18 - 25
19 - 25
20 - 25

The points listed above are only used to calculate the leaderboard standings and qualification for any Tournament of Champions entries. For every player point earned using the matrix above you earn 1/10th of a FPP point which can be used for redemption of prizes on the website. For example if you finish a tournament in first place you would earn 1,000 player points and 100 Frequent Player Points (FPPs). FPPs for positions 16 - 20th are rounded up to 3 points instead of 2.5.

Your leaderboard and FPP points will automatically be calcuated on the website within 72 hours from the end of the tournament played.

Trick question, yes and no! Each venue and venue night will maintain separate leaderboard standings which are determined to calculate venue winners. Each venue and venue night will have its own leaderboard results, but if you click on the Leaderboards tab at the top of every page you will not only find each individual venue/venue night leaderboard, you will find a current season leaderboard as well as an all time leaderboard.

The season leaderboards are reset on May 1st of every year and the All Time Leaderboard will never reset.

You are welcome to play as many events at as many venues and nights as you would like. You will find that your Venue/Venue night leaderboard results are calculated on the Venue leaderboard page, your season points are combined for all locations that you play at that season and the all time leaderboard points will continue to accumulate for every night you play.
